Two shamed Burnley Councillors who were jailed for election fraud have been released on tag – just days before the local elections. Ex-Liberal Democrat Councillors Mozaquir Ali and Manzur Hussain were freed on licence from Kirkham Prison last week after serving less than six months of their 18-month sentences.
Their release is ironically timed as the borough gears up for the local elections on Thursday, May 3rd.
