According to a story in this week's East London Advertiser, a row has broken out between Tower Hamlets Council and a High Court judge over whether election fraud took place during last May's Tower Hamlets Council elections as previously reported here and elsewhere.
While police continue to investigate the fraud allegations, Judge Richard Mawrey has said there were suspicious signs of "classic postal voting fraud" whereas Tower Hamlets Council's press office has issued a statement claiming "no election fraud" was found.
It may be a land of free speech, but I think it may be a little unwise to publicly challenge the opinions of a High Court judge. Unless, of course, you fancy a trip to Aldwych, to answer a charge of contempt of court.
