Vote Rigging, Ballot Stuffing And Election "Fixing"

Vote rigging, ballot stuffing and election "fixing" have traditionally been seen as the remit of corrupt dictatorships and banana republics. Unfortunately many parts of the world now appear to put Britain in the spotlight for these activities. And the local authority elections this May could be scrutinised for vote tampering and fraud by a European Human Rights watchdog from the Council of Europe, which is recommending that May’s elections be overseen by external monitors because of fears of electoral fraud. UKIP Councillor Stephen Allison said "It's amazing that the UK could be the first western democracy ever to have its electoral processes scrutinised by outside observers. It just shows how far we have sunk under this government".
