Cllr. Raja Akhtar | There were demands for action in Peterborough today after it was revealed that no charges have been brought following investigation into alleged vote-rigging during the 2004 council elections, when several people complained of having their votes "stolen". Allegations were made of voting cards sent to incorrect addresses and of 20 people registered to vote from one household. Peterborough city councillors Raja Akhtar and Abdul Razaq were among dozens of people interviewed in the operation. |
