A newspaper, which has long campaigned for stronger safeguards against voting fraud, today published an appeal to the Government to accept the amendment to the Electoral Administration Bill proposed by the Lords."Over the next few days", says Peter Riddell of The Times, "there will be probably the last chance this decade for Parliament to introduce stronger safeguards against voting fraud. The need for action has been underlined by various scandals over postal and other vote frauds revealed in The Times. The Electoral Commission has for some time recommended changes to improve security."
