Commission Calls For Postal Voting Reform

Sam YoungerThe UK elections watchdog, the Electoral Commission, today called for wholesale reform of postal voting in Britain in the wake of abuses of the existing system exposed in the run-up to the general election. Launching his report 'Securing the Vote report in London', Commission chair Sam Younger recommended an end to all-postal ballots, a requirement for individual registration for postal votes and an end to political parties handling application forms, saying that the changes were "fundamental to ensure a secure and reliable choice of voting methods for voters".
