Vote-Rigging Tests 'Good But Costly'

According to a report published by the Electoral Commission, trials aimed at reducing voting fraud worked well at the May local elections... or would have done if they had not proved so difficult and expensive that they are never likely to be applied on a full-scale basis.

Excuse my cynicism, but a large quango proposes individual voter signature checks at ballot boxes, runs a pilot and then concludes that the scheme might be a bit difficult and expensive to administer. And they deny that British society has been dumbed down to the level of Big Brother. Any six- or seven-year-olds out there looking for a job as next CEO of the Electoral Commission?
